Liverpool defender Joel Matip is ready to make his first start in more than 5 weeks as Liverpool play Southampton in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night at Anfield.
Matip has not been named in the starting eleven since December 11th due to injury and then uncertainty over his eligibility due to the Africa Cup of Nations which dragged on. 
FIFA have recently confirmed that Matip can to play for Liverpool, and duly made his return, coming on as a late substitute in the 3-2 defeat to Swansea at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool have no injury concerns for the semi-final.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is expected to start despite he has a heel problem.

Liverpool have doubts over defender Joel Matip and his availability with his dispute with the Cameroon national side still ongoing.
Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne will most likely return after missing the last two games with a rib injury.
For Swansea, Luciano Narsingh (new signing) wont to play because the he has a calf injury.
Both Martin Olsson and Tom Carroll both be involved on Saturday for Swansea.
