'Put it all in and Liverpool loves you'

'Put it all in and Liverpool loves you' Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaks to LFC TV: "Lose the Champions League final the night before and the people arrive here in the mood they are. It is absolutely outstanding. This is the best club in the world. I don't care what people think. "You have to plan these kind of things. I hoped we would find something like this, something incredible. "Yes we lost the last two trophies but these people don't forget. They know exactly what shift the boys put in. It is such a boost for everything that will come. "I am proud of these players but I am proud of these people - unbelievable. "When you see the eyes of the people, it's incredible. You don't have to win, you just have to put all that you have in and the people of Liverpool love you. "I'm not drunk, just emotional."

Spirit of Shankly statement...

Spirit of Shankly statement... Liverpool Supporters' Union Spirit of Shankly have put out a statement on last night's scenes outside the Stade de France. They point to "the disorganisation and shambolic mismanagement of a major final by Uefa." Spirit of Shankly said: "Fans were not late. Many began arriving more than two-and-a-half hours before the scheduled kick-off time. They had legitimate tickets but failed to gain entry. "The Merseyside Police representative in Paris made it clear: 'I can only describe it as the worst European match I’ve ever worked or experienced. I thought the behaviour of the fans at the turnstiles was exemplary in shocking circumstances. You were not late 100 per cent'. "The failure rests with UEFA, the French authorities and police. " In continuing from our last post, Liverpool Supporters' Union Spirit of Shankly added: "The consequence of such incompetence was the not unusual heavy-handed response from the police and their indiscriminate use of tear gas and pepper spray. "The French authorities and police also failed to control gangs of local youths before and after the match. Innocent fans were left distraught after they were assaulted, bags pick pocketed and match tickets stolen." The Union says its work with several bodies in the build-up to the fixture was "ignored by Uefa and the relevant French authorities". Their statement adds: "We will now work with those same organisations to gather evidence of all affected by the events in Paris. It is incumbent on Uefa, the French authorities and police to take responsibility. They need to send representatives to Liverpool to meet with LFC and SOS. Lessons need to be learned so that this never happens again."

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah: I will be at Anfield next season 'for sure'

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah: I will be at Anfield next season 'for sure' Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool FC striker, believes he will be at Anfield next season "for sure," but won't say whether he will sign a new contract. Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in June 2023, prompting suspicion that he could be moved if he does not sign a new one, as Liverpool would lose him for nothing in a year. "I don't want to talk about that," he remarked when questioned about his future before Saturday's Champions League final. "All I want to see is Jordan Henderson [Hendo] holding the trophy." "I am definitely staying next season," the Egypt striker, 29, added.

Southampton v Liverpool

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been ruled out of Liverpool's critical Premier League match against Southampton on Tuesday. Salah suffered a groyne injury and Van Dijk suffered a knee injury during Saturday's FA Cup final win over Chelsea at Wembley. Klopp is optimistic that both players will be fit for Sunday's season finale against Wolves at Anfield. "The goal is for them to be engaged again at the weekend," Klopp stated. "It's extremely encouraging. We're realistic about the Wolves game, but we'd rather not play tomorrow." Salah is the Premier League's leading scorer this season, with 22 goals. With a muscular issue, Fabinho will miss Tuesday's game, while Andy Robertson, who experienced cramp on Saturday, is also out.
